   Woke up near Mt Shasta.

   I fell asleep in the dining car / observation lounge of the Coast Starlight. It was vastly superior to trying to lie flat across three seats on a plane in economy class, in the rare chance there were three seats open that you could move to.

   As someone from a tiny country: we’re still in California?!

     Scenes from the Coast Starlight observation lounge at 9:20am: 2 old ladies doing watercolors in a sketch book of the scenery (separately), a child drawing a comic, people playing a tabletop game with little rubber duckies, some poor souls with spreadsheets
