   Bring back the COVID emergency, and expand it to include mpox and bird flu.

   Restore all the measures (mandatory masking, social distancing, free testing, test-and-trace, selected paid lockdowns, paid sick leave, protection for workers in vulnerable areas) that worked in 2020-2021 to contain the viruses. Add vaccines when they have been proven safe & effective in containment.

   Provide monetary relief for marginalized people directly harmed by the pandemic. No more PPP "loans" for Wall Street.

     That needs to be the second plank in any serious Indy Left platform, just below ending ALL funding to Israel and not giving them one more weapon, bomb, or red cent until they COMPLETELY withdraw from and rebuild the Occupied Territories as PALESTINIAN land, and expel the Zionist settlers and militias. FOR STARTERS.

     Oh, and transferring the excessive military and carceral spending and regressive taxation over to meet long-igmored social needs of marginalized, underprivileged, and disabled folk.

     @AnthonyJK For a while there in 2021 we’d reduced poverty and homelessness. The child tax credit had been increased, child poverty and hunger had declined significantly, people got an income to make the rent, the homeless were housed and fed in hotels, and people couldn’t be evicted- all paid for by the TFG. Then with a stroke of a pen democrats went back to 2019 while blaming their blue dogs and started shoveling the money into Ukraine Palestine and nukes.
