1. three wood ducks, two males and one female, perched side by side on a fallen branch right off the surface of a pond. the males are in their "eclipse" plumage, which is a bit less colourful than the full wood duck plumage, but still very colourful. the male closest to the camera is preening its back feathers under its wing, lifting them up and showing off their beautiful blue hues
