    And, speaking of good news on the medical front:

    I think I figured out what was causing those bad spasms that had me in the ER last week.

    Not constipation....cramps from dehydration and the meds I was taking.

    Still can't walk a block in this damn heat without nearly passing out, though, so still not fit for active work, those gougers at my former insurance company nonwithstanding.

      The doc who treated me at the ER had recced an appointment with a digestive specialist to find out what the issue was, since he ran tests (including an MRI) & found nothing wrong). I had had some issues passing my stool (which were triggering the cramps), but they seem to have cleared out.

      Should I still make that appointment, knowing that I'm already more than deep enough in medical debt, and more than likely he'll find nothing? Or, should I let it ride and explain it to my private doc?

      @voxofgod

      No, I am on Medicaid already.

      This is for SSDI/Disability. I was actually denied originally in January of 2023, then my initial appeal was denied in June of this year. I am now appealing that through a judge.

      The process is, though, indeed insane. You have to go through this much rigamarole and the equivalent of the Marine Corps' Crucible even though your own damn private doctor can prove you are too disabled to work?? Really??

      @AnthonyJK I don't understand why they haven't approved Medicaid for you yet

      That's insane

      @voxofgod

      I don't know if colonoscopies are covered by Medicaid; I've never had one yet. (Yeah, I know, it would be a good thing to check just in case.)

      I have done one of those mail in fecal/stool sample tests for my private doctor. It was covered; however, I was under my ex-job's benefit program. I was paying $700 a month for such coverage. Yikes.

      They didn't do a colonoscopy on me; but an MRI on my lower chest.

      @AnthonyJK I have disability I know the process it's grueling and demeaning

      I just don't understand why you would have to pay for a colonoscopy if you have Medicaid already
