Why do women get so 'angry' during or after menopause?
So very many reasons.
It's not like the rage wasn't there before, it just gets a little more ... um...unleashed?
We become invisible...like absolutely invisible. Career opportunities that men our same age enjoy, just don't happen for us. We become non-entities like we've always been but not on a log-scale upward slope of invisibility.
Men say things like 'menopausal women become selfish when their estrogen runs out'. WTF?!

Why don't I do more writing or explaining my work?
Ummm...when I do it, it gets ignored.
Seriously, I've considered hiring a young man to pretend to show my work as his own and share the profits with him.
Actually, that might be a great art installation/event. Would love to explore that, if anyone is interested.

I'm not actually a 'bad-ass bitch', at least not most of the time.
But I feel like I have to channel my inner 'bad-ass bitch' to just survive sometimes. Lots of times.
I just want to do my nerdy art-tech stuff and make my contributions to art and culture and make a living and be appreciated when I do good work.
Just to be clear, when I call my work good, it's actually exceptional.

Why do I even bother with putting my work out there any more?
It's not like I'm bringing in an income like I would with the very same work as a man.
So, why do I keep putting my work out there?
1. I'm a bad-ass brilliant bitch who is constantly producing new and groundbreaking work.
2. Visibility is important. There are young people of all genders who need to see work produced by a bad-ass bitch like me.
3. My artist friends like my work, and they help me feel valued.

Like the whole fact that the concept of a 'MILF' exists?!
WTF is that? Seriously!
So, a woman marries and has children, probably makes career sacrifices for her husband's career, because he's systemically going to be paid more than she is. So she gives up or slows down her career so that her kids might be better off.
So, why are menopausal and post-menopausal women so angry?
Because society fucks them over all their lives, and then can't see them when they might not be fuckable any more.

I have absolutely no wish to be a man. But I do wish to have the privilege of a man.
I would like to have actual friendships with men, who I can trust to be friends with me as a person, and actual fully formed person worthy of friendship, and not just a potential 'piece of ass'.
I want this for all women. I want men to be more. To be more human, and less fragile.
Old 'hags' like me? We deserve more, and we have more to give to the worthy.

A lot of us die of cancer, various cancers. Usually because we've been too busy taking care of everyone around us to go and get the medical care we need.
Or working so hard, to be exceptional, because we have to be exceptional to just survive, that we don't make that annual exam.
We're so thankful to no longer be hit on every three seconds, that we forget that it's the only attention we were ever really getting.
We used to be able to pretend that it was our words and not our tits.

Society suddenly withholds every little thing that tricked us into thinking that they actually were listening to our words and our ideas and our works!
We suddenly find that during our whole lives, society judged us on our fuckability, or how easy it would be to steal our work and sell it as their own....no matter what our work was.
