The #activitypub plugin for Wordpress is still not ready for primetime, IMO. When you add an image to your Wordpress Media Library, internally that's an attachment post, and the plugin appears to be ignoring that, and making a post out of it anyway. I just added a few dozen images to my library and they all showed up in my Mastodon feed as separate postings! Sorry, but that's crap. @pfefferle#activitypubplugin#wordpress_activitypub_plugin
@japipes then you might have to check your settings! There is a section where you can decide what post types you want to federate. If you deactivate attachments, it will no longer publish media uploads!
@japipes it is off by default since some versions. Maybe you installed it before we changed it?!? What information might help you to decide what to enable and what not? We are always happy to improve things!
@pfefferle Appreciate the response. I would humbly suggest that this option should default to off. Also, I had a look at the configuration page, and it's not super obvious to a novice like me which boxes I should check and which I should leave alone.
@japipes always use the version from the WordPress.org repo, so that it will be updated with every new version. If you are using ClassicPress or any other special fork, you could also install it through composer.
