Finally I got around to asking Audacity to add an option to export the labels track as a chapters json!

With so many people, I'm sure, using Audacity to edit podcast episodes, it's very strange to me that this is not possible yet. Could that be one of the reasons why so few podcasts does use this very useful feature?

If you would like to be able to do this too, I'd appreciate a thumbs up on this issue: https://github.com/audacity/audacity/issues/7078

Your idea Hi. Thanks for your great work on an important piece of software! My wish is for a way to export the label track as a json file with the markup needed to use the file to create chapters i...

There's over 1100 open issues over on the Audacity git, though… so, you know…

Still, this should be a fairly easy thing to implement, I would guess. Though I'm not a coder, unfortunately.

But last time I complained about this, @Torstein very kindly just whipped up a website that converts the Audacity .txt export of the labels track to a chapters json file pretty fast, though. So… http://altin.no/track2title/

Here's hoping someone wants to do this, even if it's not the most critical thing.

@forteller I’m subscribed to too many podcasts, and while my client app do support chapters, only a few of those podcasts have them. Typically the ones where I don’t need chapters.
It used to be harder to add them 5-10 years ago, but now there’s no good excuse for omitting them. I’m not very familiar with Audacity, though.

@Izng What's the easiest way to do it? What I've seen are just tools where you have to listen trough the whole file after making it to add them, which is pretty time consuming
