   I dont get why individual words are censored in YouTube videos, especially in languages which are not english.
   It doesn't make sense, especially since the words are not completely censored and every viewer can clearly identify that, for example, sex is being discussed...
   I'm not sure where this comes from, if I had to guess I would say it has its origins in America and in recent years there has been great progress with speech to text software / models, so that word censorship can be enforced

     @mian @icedquinn But that doesn't make sense. The context of the video / what is being said doesn't change and that is exactly what is important. Sex is a good example of this, the context can be positive and educational. I would understand if there was a conscious attempt to circumvent filters with bad intentions, e.g. for threats, but in the current situation that is just stupid

     @Jain @mian they do indeed just grep the transcript, at minimum.
     
     robots that understand nuance are pretty high level things, i can barely get anyone to listen to me about neural search and how easy it actually is. (though enforcing narratives is extremely dystopic, like "you can only talk about X as long as its how its bad")
     
     but, the system doesn't care. per kazynsky (the systems neatest trick) the goal is line go up. if something is controvertial at all that could make line go down, so you are only allowed to do homogenized things that ensure line go up.
