   @lamp @drewhans555 All my 日本語 learning is done with only free software.
   
   I've heard reports that duolingo is almost useless unless you pretty much already know the language.

     It's taken me 269 days to get to section 3 of Duolingo's Japanese course.

     Started studying with the app on November 12th, 2023. Completed all 10 units of section 1 in just a few weeks. Then spent almost all of 2024 working my way through the 35 units in section 2.

     I haven't been this motivated about learning in a long time. Proud of myself.
