@feld @nate Well there's still Java, Erlang/Elixir, Go, … which works fine on a whole bunch of architectures. That said you quite need to be more careful about ressource usage with those than when writing C.
But you're not going to write kernels in those, which is the real change with Rust/Zig/Hare/…: Finally getting modern system programming languages.
