     @drewdevault I would not necessarily limit that to the internet, the offline world with add is at best only marginally better

     I'm pretty sure that the only news site whose software component delivers on the promise of "read the article you clicked on" is text.npr.org

     @drewdevault Well at the same time it's pretty much ads/sponsors (hello tech youtubers), or paywalls at least similarly to LWN where most recent articles require a subscription.
