   @DrJRN @slyflourish I say this so much that my friends are tired of hearing me say it, but: Wizards isn't a game company, they're an event facilitating company that sells games.

   Like you're saying, we all pass on the tradition ourselves, and that's how it's always worked. It's how I got into it, and I think it's the start of their "D&D player funnel".

   That won't stop, but Wizards moving away from a strong embracing of their event facilitation role is going to make it wither somewhat.It's

     I've been playing since 1979, and have every PHB, DMG, MM (and FF) since the initial books came out.

     I have no idea how many hundreds of modules I have across the spectrum of editions and my current campaigns are a combo of 5ed and homebrewing.

     And I am not unique. We will carry on, pass 50 years of tradition to the generations of players, the sun will continue to rise, and Gary will smile upon us. #dnd
