   can anyone explain how uploading the same banner image to 2 different instances results in such different appearances?

     is this some kind of content processing regression? Is it due to "load of server"? Is it because "mastodon has the newer nightly version" (and thus this is the future)?

     Probably some custom code on .social to save space.😬
