On a technically correct but with no practical effect. .223/5.56 tumbles on impact and creates nasty wound channels despite being a small round. But that also doesn't take into consideration things like if the bullet is a hollowpoint or regular ball.
But it doesn't really matter because you are unlikely to survive getting shot by either. For gameplay an M16 should have less damage than an AK47 with the trade off being the AK has more recoil.
