Erased memories
Gaza based Palestinian poet Khaled Jumaa wrote in Arabic:
“When my sister’s husband passed away in 1998, he chose to be buried alone in his orchard east of Khan Yunis. My sister continued to water the tree I had planted next to his grave for 15 years, until she died from cancer in 2013 and was buried next to him.
The Israeli army takes joy in abducting memories. During the last war on Gaza their graves were bulldozed by the IDF and no one knows where they are now.“
