   Roku removed the option to turn on the power saver screensaver on their own TVs so the only way to get it is to reset, not connect to the internet, and quickly after setting it, tell it to not download wallpapers and screensavers

     @Jessica i remember looking at roku once but i think at this point i'd just buy some random chinese android brand (there was a z-something pirates liked) or just plug in a minipc

     @icedquinn@blob.cat there's no option to set the screensaver to just turn off the TV screen once it updates the theme option
     This is only on rokuTVs tho

     @icedquinn@blob.cat for all the shortcomings of roku it's still one of the easiest interfaces IMO and it doesn't seem to favor one platform other the other, and all the apps are uninstallable, no bloatware.
     and when you set it up without wifi it's still a decent dumbTV
