Every single time I have to deal with one DNS issue or another I think... how can it be that things haven't completely and utterly fallen over and destroyed themselves yet? It's kind of like an old tape player. You know at some point the player should start eating the tape but for some reason it just isn't happening.

You can also slightly misconfigure DNS and it will break in strange ways. Slowly. over time. More and more. And some misconfigurations really should break but somehow do not. Yeah DNS is just one of those things which should make sense but the more you think you understand the more it laughs in your face.
