@BowsacNoodle i know a dude that has one .. says 44 or so mpg .. going pretty fast . like 70 or 80.. he has a long commute is a payment and ((full coverage insurance)) going to be a savings though ?
@brokeassredneck >is a payment and ((full coverage insurance)) going to be a savings though ? No, it won't be savings. I'm just going to need a long commuter car sooner than later and I'll probably buy new since the used car market is somehow a worse deal than the new car market still.
@Monsignor_DickFace I'd love a taco but they're expensive for a commuter vehicle. I'm driving a ton right now and I want something with good MPG. Made in America is a bonus for complicated reasons, although I can get Honda, Mazda, or GM at employee pricing. Ride quality and CVT make me nervous for the maverick TBH.
@VIcFury@Monsignor_DickFace Oh is that the one with the same hybrid drive as the Prius? Proven tech at this point. Batteries wear out and you can diy replace them easily enough.
@BowsacNoodle@Monsignor_DickFacehttps://youtu.be/hHU5xFOBcsU had an 2007 hybrid escape ran for 230,000 over 16 years. No issues with engine or transmission. Hf30 ecvt ... Change the fluids when called for. Everything else wares out before the power train does.
I understand the newer ones are better but I am pretty sure the range mentioned had lots of issues judging from the number I have seen and read about for coworkers
@BowsacNoodle I've heard people say it's gay. Who cares what others thinks though?
How I would build a new ute. Cut the front fenders Jeep style, install a big lift, put 40 inch tyres on wide offset 16 inch rims. Make an alloy bullbar bumper for front. Sliders and side bars, and tow bar. A roof basket perhaps? And make an aluminium tray for the back to get rid of the ugly tub. Powder coat or bedline all aluminium parts before installation.
I've never seen a Maverick in real life and don't know its offroad capabilities, or it's fuel mileage. I presume mileage low, if it's a petrol engine.
There's a Monster Maverick on YouTube but I don't think it's a Maverick. Just a Maverick body over something else.
@WhiteGuyWhoNoticed I see them all the time while driving in the sticks. It's kind of funny that the "not a real trugg" ended up dominating parts of rural America. It's also a testament to the fact that everybody is broke AF.
@Monsignor_DickFace No dox but I have clients who will appreciate it is all. I'm not concerned too much, but a kia wouldn't be appreciated even if the K5 or stinger would be more fun.
@Monsignor_DickFace I'm not concerned too much, but a kia wouldn't be appreciated even if the K5 or stinger would be more fun. Some of the people who I work with will appreciate me buying American. Not feds.
@BowsacNoodle I've seen a few videos of these truggs in rural America being used on farms. They must be okay for light use, and as a commuter vehicle.
I've had to downgrade from a strong ute/truck to a small commercial van. My ute has a 3.5 petrol engine and it sucks fuel. My van is diesel with a small turbo and it sips very little. I only fill up once a month in that, and I use it like my ute/truck. I'm Aussie. We say ute instead of truck.
@BowsacNoodle@WhiteGuyWhoNoticed Theoretically a diesel-electric hybrid would be optimal for my use case - but for the fact you mention that maybe one-in-three stations sell it. Well, hybrid would help that too … also theoretically.
