     Thanks! Cause "Bakkie" and "Lorry" are both unfamiliar terms to me.

     In which case...

     even if semi-truck is technically accurate it's also uncommon here in California. I'm more familiar with this being called a 'big rig' or an '18-wheeler" or a "semi"

     Its driver is a "trucker" to be sure but that's a job title.

     "Truck" with no modifier refers to passenger vehicles with dedicated beds.

     The Isuzu in your last post is a "box truck" or "delivery truck"

     @NaClKnight @GrahamDowns A truck would be what Americans might call a semi-truck, along with a slightly smaller u-haul style truck
