News orgs that agree to interviews, panels, debates, etc… with the caveat of no fact checking aren’t news orgs.
They are mouthpieces.

@WarnerCrocker If you're talking about NABJ, there was fact checking, by PolitiFact
@melaniesill They agreed to no fact checking live on stage.
@WarnerCrocker Media owned by billionaire fascists like Koch, Musk, Theil, and their rich buddies is not journalism. Its propaganda.
@mickymorse True, but that’s historically been the case. Hearst, McCormick, etc….
@WarnerCrocker Not sure what you are envisioning. Example of live fact checking of live interview?
@melaniesill It’s simple. When someone says something untrue just say that’s not true instead of leaving it unchalleneged.
@WarnerCrocker I heard the interviewers push back, several times.
@melaniesill I did too and kudos to them, but those were the ground rules set down by the campaign and why the event started late and ended early.

@WarnerCrocker @melaniesill Here’s a live fact check: Where is your information about the 30 minute delay coming from? What’s your source? I see people on Twitter saying, “I’m being told” this (but not by whom), and I saw someone attribute it to the NYT, but can’t find a NYT story that says it. On stage, the consensus was that the delay was because of the sound system.
