   Somehow Democrats have managed to tag republicans as "weird" and made it stick. This has always been hard for Democrats despite the right being deeply weird in all the worst ways since one of the core left values is a kind of acceptance of freakiness.

   There is however ... a line. A seam, if you will. And something about JD Vance is right over it.

     But fundamentally weirdness is great, as long as it isn't being weird about controlling and meddling in other people's private lives and personal choices. And this just happens to be just about the only kind of weirdness Republicans like.

     Tracking women's periods is weird
     Trying to control porn is weird.
     Caring what hormones someone takes is weird.

     Republicans have a lot of weirdness and hangups about sex and gender and it's nice to hear that being described for what it is. 2/2
