   @stefan I think Fediverse wide fundraising is a great idea, for #mutualaid and also for funding Fediverse development -- but one big missing piece is a Fediverse-optimized version of ActBlue or Patreon.

     What do folks here think about shared community funds for causes such as "MutualAid" and donations to instance moderators? Has this been tried before?

     Would something like this help us replicate the success of the "Mastodon for Harris" campaign?

     Or is there something else going on?
