@evamik aren't earbuds compatible with other stuff tho?
smartwatches tho....
I mean, in my experience all smartwatches are just raw disappointment in a waterproof case. Only Excellent tier smartwatch I ever had was Pebble Time and that died, not just the company but the watch itself lost sealant/glue/whatever and front plate falls of. The closest second is pine time, and while not "Excellent" tier, it was <Very Good> enough for me to buy <two of them>, i mean not akimbo, but one after first one died (to water damage?) they're rather cheap too...
Two proprietary watches (LG, Garmin) were fucking trash and most features locked by app ('s privacy settings), controls sucked fucking ass, they didn't have nearly the comfort and features pebble had (even with app) and sometimes (LG specifically) charging was ASS.
Remember that you often can reuse old electronics, I'm using my old xperia as bluetooth range extender and speakers control for sauna/bathroom (do want to replace one of those things with ESP32 tho)... Although.. I myself have a conondrum of trying to reuse my old iPad 4, and I don't have high hopes for it.

@ZRDR_DelRio @evamik it will show you when someone calls you, which is i never realized so good for me because often my phone is buried deep in bedsheets or something when that happens and there would be no way for me to even hear it vibrating. Can't make calls from it, at least not from PineTime. Smartwatches interfaces are usually to clunky and awkward for that anyway IMO.
