     A nuance of that warning that “Trump will never leave office if he wins:”

     Trump’s aging, and he's not the healthiest guy. There's a decent chance he wouldn’t even live to the end of a second term. But democracy won’t just reappear poof! undamaged the moment he's gone.

     What all these billionaires are bidding on — what Peter Thiel bought for himself with Vance, for example — are prime shares in the scuffle to inherit the authoritarian power Trump is trying to create for himself.

     P.S. Democracy in the USA has never at any point in time been “undamaged,” not once, not for one minute. Just so we’re clear on that. This fight is as old as democracy itself.

     I’m not ready to go that tinfoil hat with it, but I do think a lot of the oligarchs standing in the shadows behind him are hoping to ride his coattails to autocracy and then waiting for him to die.

     I'm half expecting that Trumpbis going to have a heart attack on stage at a rally shortly before the election, and be declared dead on the 6th - or possibly be shot, and succumb to his wounds after.
     His only chance of living to inauguration day is to lose.
