   I once took a challenge from my daughter, who boarded a #CTA bus to school. I decided to walk instead. I reached there before the bus did

   I had a similar challenge with some guests visiting us. They were used to car comfort and could not walk even if they wanted to. So I put them in an Uber ride, while I walked (There was no room left for me in the car anyway.) Imagine their shock when I was waiting for them when their ride arrived

   I do agree about sweat and elements though 😉

     If it is taking you 30 minutes to travel that marginal last mile, you might consider walking 🙂

     I usually walk at 3 miles/hour, but YMMV.

     For longer distances, I prefer #CTA trains over buses whenever possible because they don't get stuck in traffic.

     I ditched my car completely many years back. Now I'm both carFree and careFree

     @rameshgupta @chris I used to dread making the walk/ride call! Either a guaranteed 20 minute walk in the elements, or somewhere between 5 and 30 minutes if you just stay put on the bus. And a total lack of information to make a good decision.
     When you're all hot and sweaty after walking 15 minutes in the heat and then the bus catches up and passes you... the worst.
