   But I have thought about a possible solution to the money thing that will not include ads and not include copyright. So I could still make Libre stuff and still get paid. I emailed Richard Stallman about it. He didn't find issues with my approach. Basically, do not publish anything you want to get payed for until you are paid for. That's it. The hard part is to setup a website with a progress bar and a payment thing.

     Interesting how you use nautical payed and financial paid in the same sentence.
     
     Provided you have enough interested "fans" and are known for your reliability and it's not difficult to make a payment (proprietary credit card stuff always makes it hard to pay, impossible to pay without running proprietary software and add ridiculous fees), you're likely to get a fair amount of profit in exchange for works.

     I don't believe that people need to make money from everything they do. I made a lot without getting paid and it is fine. ( My articles has no ads or anything to make money from ). If I have no money as a result it is my problem. I can just have a job and be able to eat and sleep in relative comfort and even afford the energy drink that will boost me to write another article or write some more code.
