     @lain The Strugatski brothers (but purists will say you need to read them in the original Russian to truly appreciate them)
     
     also add Ray Bradbury, Frank Herbert (I've read a novel from him where all babies are made artificially, and at some point the main character hides a baby inside his gf's belly), and maybe Edgar Rice Burroughs, even though only his settings are nice.
