   We know, of course, that if the handoff occurred •after• the convention, they’d argue it should have happened •before•. The GOP was always going to flood the zone with frivolous lawsuits.

   I’m not happy they have more ammo for them now, but given this well-coordinated shift to support Harris, I’m more optimistic than I was yesterday that somebody actually has a plan.

     #GOP eyes #legal challenges as #Harris assumes control of #Biden’s war chest — tens of millions, could get tied up in the #FEC & then #court.

     Charlie Spies, a #CampaignFinance lawyer, said both Biden & Harris would have to have been officially nominated by the #Democratic Party at its convention BEFORE a handoff. Then, a provision in campaign finance #law allows a VP nom to take control of the depository if the presidential nom withdraws.
