     In the U.S. and want to make it less likely that authoritarians will take even more power? Here are ways to help:

     - Contribute to progressive orgs that do get out the vote. E.g. http://vot-pac.com/l/Y9KJAu
     - Resist fascism in your local community: join your library foundation, find local candidates to support, join a local community org that supports immigrants, queer people, the poor, etc.
     - Support unions.

     Also AOC is very good at communicating in a way that doesn't come off as over confident but also still assertive and value oriented.

     I must admit I just listened to most of AOC's insta live (https://www.instagram.com/reel/C9l41vgOAGj/) -- wish there was a transcript I could link instead -- but as someone who spent like 20
     hours a week of my life in the last couple months of the 2016 election volunteering for the Clinton campaign (while holding a full time startup job!), it is fucking depressing watching the utter lack of realism the elite powerful types seem to have about how process and door knocking and enthusiasm works.

     I read some social media this morning about national politics which made me mad. Instead of tooting the details I'm going to write some local elected officials about issues that matter and that they can do something about.
