     An abbreviated history:

     1992: Clinton/Gore beats Bush/Quayle. No one* calls them Bill/Al or George/Dan
     2000: Bush/Cheney (arguably) beats Gore/Lieberman. No one calls them George/Dick or Al/Joe, despite multiple Bush presidents.
     2008: Obama/Biden beats McCain/Palin. No one calls them Barack/Joe or John/Sarah
     2016: Trump/Pence beats Clinton/Kaine. Everyone calls her "Hillary"
     2020: Biden/Harris beats Trump/Pence. Everyone calls her "Kamala"
