   In the early 2000s, one of the thing on a scavenger hunt was a phone booth. I think there were two left in our college town and only one was found. Now the stand alone telephone is equally rare ... I wonder if they're still 35cents.

     I also just noticed that one says "Verizon" on it, so it's probably got a SIM card in it and connected to a cell network 🤣

     @djsumdog @Milica42 hard to say, I don't know the extent to which the old analog system has been decommissioned, but Verizon came out of a Bell Atlantic and GTE merger, and Bell had booths everywhere so the infrastructure would have already been there.
