     i'm not sure what photodons do because i never stressed them enough to break, but tempered glass shatters on a dime.

     @Jessica @nus part of what makes d3o gel nice (though i dunno that it comes in screen protector form) is its soft but responds to trauma by the membrane hardening, so the force of impact gets distributed across the entire surface, which makes it more likely to walk away from an impact (esp. with the stuff under it surviving unharmed)
     
     tempered glass self destructs to do it, but other chemistry exists

     @Jessica @icedquinn I can't quit phone cases until they make phones that don't slide off of surfaces. As soon as I take my phone case off and put my phone down somewhere, it immediately slides off and falls on the floor. Charging port first, if it's plugged in.

     @nus @Jessica when the repair shops were asked what kind of case the phones they repaired came in, most of them were "none" or "some decorative one," and very, very few, were otterboxes (or equivalent.)

     @icedquinn @Jessica if I get bubbles in my screen protector, I scream, cry and throw up and then remove it with very tear filled eyes. I have a magnetic one for my tablet coming that’s a paperlike one, so we’ll see how that goes. At least that one should be a more pleasant experience as I can adjust and remove as need be.
