Great observation that I agree with.
I like that over here I’m simply getting mad about the news itself but not getting mad at people/trolls offering inflammatory clickbait commentary on the news—if that makes sense.
Some of that is due to more homogeneous political views over here, but it’s also because this platform isn’t designed to drive activity through rage.

  Probably preaching to the choir, but I have to say the one lingering question I had about Mastodon - the ability to keep up with breaking news/politics - has been answered thoroughly in the past month. The balance between "being adequately informed in a timely manner" and "not being subject to unnecessary idiocy and/or cacophony " is quite enjoyable. The news itself isn't so enjoyable, quite the contrary, but I feel like it's coming at an acceptable rate and in an intelligent form.
