In their own words, “Our work consists of base-building, advocacy, and winning budget and policy campaigns to change living conditions for Black people from ending solitary confinement to decriminalizing drugs.” They’ve worked on a number of campaigns including educating people and campaigning against DC’s recent efforts to roll back 30 years of reform efforts. 4/6

     #Abolition #BlackMastodon #BlackTwitter #HarrietsWildestDreams Finally, Harriet’s Responders is the pillar that seeks to cut off the the ability of the carceral state to continue to oppress our communities. The DC Safety Squad is the center of this pillar. In coalition with other organizations and experts they are building the DC Harm Reduction and Rapid Response Team that can be mobilized instead of calling the police. It is the embodiment of the belief that “we can keep us safe.” 5/6
