     @jhpot Well more like an interoperable open format, like OpenDocument (odt) technically is an open format but if LibreOffice ever falls down, then you're going to need to use either virtual machines or alternative implementations, which typically do not render documents in the same way.
     
     So more like pick one where either it's been existing for decades already or you're sure there's enough different implementations.

     @lanodan This is a good perspective! I honestly could have cascaded in so many directions for this piece but wanted to give something actionable for the average person...
