@Bonsai if you think the fall of the soviet union wasn't the end of an ideological era, I'd say you should look at some primary sources. That's not how a huge swath of people felt, and they acted that way.

@Bonsai Yes, the soviets lost the cold war. Their vision of centrally managed global communism died. A different version of globalism won.
To even make a situation where they "won" you would need to make a situation where the west was even more of a basket case than them, which is difficult.
