   One thing that sets off old PTSD reactions from childhood more than anything else, is seeing people engage in violent posturing, and good grief, has there been an upswell of that lately.

   I can endure many different kinds of social toxicity but this is not one them.

   I'm taking a break from social media for a while.

     Can you people *please* shut the fuck up with the gun talk?

     Hey, you know what? This is the Fediverse and it's full of trans people and speaking as a trans person, I'm usually one or two emotional crises away from wanting to end myself.

     If I bought a gun, the first person to wind up with a bullet in her would likely be me, by my own hand.

     Please take your gun fondling shit somewhere else.

     I'm breaking my "radio silence" to mention that I wrote this thread on July 4th. It is not a commentary on yesterday's shooting of Donald Trump.

     Sometimes it's easy to forget to read time stamps on posts, so I'm just pointing this out to prevent confusion.

     It is weirdly ironic that I posted this nine days before an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, though.

     (Who knows what the political persuasion of the shooter is, though. Too early to tell. Too few details.)
