A bullet practically bounced off their guy. They've got to be ecstatic right now.

I don't know who wrote his first public statement after the attack, but it was written by a pro. I imagine they work predictable stuff like this out beforehand for maximum impact, so I'm not going to pretend it was written in the heat of the moment, but it was still very good.
