   The amount of people on Fedi that don't set their language before posting is too damn high...

   If you're posting in another language, yet your post language is set to English, you're forcing those who can't read your post, to see your post for no reason....😬

   Set the language for your posts, please!

     @BeAware Wow, I've been "posting" in Swedish while (mostly) writing in English all this time... did not know this was a thing.

     @DavidBHimself you can set the language for each individual post on mastodon.🤷♂️

     It is a kind of pain in the ass, I'm sure. But it helps others because it also tells DeepL translation what language to translate from and that there needs to be a translation.

     @BeAware@social.beaware.live The problem is that most of us are bilingual or more here (unlike US-owned platforms) and on Mastodon there is no easy way to switch languages. On my Mastodon account, I set it to English as it's the language I use the most, and when I write in French... So be it...
     
     The good news is that the latest Firefish update has a language detector and it warns me when I write in a language that's different from the one that is set and it invites me to switch.
