Never heard of this on AP. Only BlueSky.

@mbajur @abelio ah, I see. So it seems it is supported, however, I haven't seen one AP service that uses it this way so I'm not sure any would support it natively without having to change code.
However, I'm definitely interested in seeing it and how it interacts, though I'd hate for you to build depending on that, then realize nobody has support for it and then have to re-do it. Though, admittedly, I don't know how hard or easy it would be to re-do after the fact.🤷♂️
@BeAware @abelio this thread https://github.com/swicg/activitypub-webfinger/issues/17 and everything linked in there was the only thing i was able to find regarding that.
@BeAware @abelio hah yes, that's the thing, i could totaly build on top of that concept and cope with the fact that no one supports it (but eventually will) but that means users of Abelio will not be able to be followed from anywhere but Abelio - which is unacceptable :( It's a way of "forcing" changes on the fediverse but in a form of a bet/risk
@mbajur it will be an uphill battle to convince every other AP project to confirm to your idea, but hopefully you can do some convincing.
I do wish you luck. We need more "single user" implementations here if we want the "decentralization" part of Fedi to stick.
As of now, Mastodon pretty much has a vice grip on Fedi in terms of pushing features and making other devs comply or be left behind...😬
@snarfed.org the issue with that one, is it's a mastodon only proposal....I really wish they'd stop making Mastodon proprietary features without adding value to AP directly.
@mbajur there's also https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/22213
