   @obihahn z80 8bit processor.

   This was a Popeye rescuing Olive Oil from Brutus game but the licensing deal fell through and Mario and Donkey Kong and the Princess were born.

     Fun Fact.... Nintendo was sued for copyright infringement for this game. Their attorney was a Mr. Kirby. He won. They named Kirby in his honor.

     @obihahn somehow I think of the Thriller album with these games but that didn't come out until Nov 1982 and I know I didn't listen to it until spring 1983 on my classmates Sony walkman for the first time! I'm also not sure the bowling alley got the cabinet on the day of release either. It may have been months before actually seeing one. And I don't remember it IN the bowling alley. Only at Chuck E Cheese!! The alley had frogger tho. Not centipede. That was at Chuck's too. So good.

     OTD (July 9th) in 1981: Nintendo released the Donkey Kong arcade game in Japan. It didn’t land in the USA until July 31st.
