     @OneEyeKing @YoungBlood Let's be real here, even if you pay cash the only way the govt won't know you have a firearm is if you purchase from another citizen. Might as well pay with a CC at a gun shop.

     It's probably not anymore, especially after the NY permit case. Thomas all but says any licensing process is unconstitutional. That portion is dicta though and the holding only concerned character review of I recall. But if the right case comes along before he's dead....???

     @Humpleupagus @AlphaKiloPapa @YoungBlood In NJ that's the case. Also cops have access to a database to search if one owns a handgun. How is this constitutional?

     It's been a while here, but california used to only require you pass a written exam at a gun dealer. The law may be different now.
