Are there any browsers with ActivityPub directly integrated?

@paul No, because AP is only used for server to server communication, not server to client. A web browser is always a client.

AP technically does allow for server to client but most apps have found it easier to use their own API for that and reserve AP for federation only.

@paul I have a faint memory of Opera putting a web server into their browser, so where there's a will there's a way I guess

Opera Unite tried decentralizing the web ten years ago
        from https://www.daniel.priv.no/
A decade ago, the Opera web browser shipped a virtual fridge and a built-in web server right inside its web browser. Why did it fail to decentralize the web?

@paul if it's being "proxied" what's the point of federation if half the users allow some centralized service to be their server? (This implementation would be very popular for it's simplicity from a user perspective)

At that point it would be better to just build a MastodonAPI client into the browser itself

@paul your browser would need to be a web server exposed to the internet, it needs to implement WebFinger too

@feld I dunno, still thinking. Each client could have an inbox (proxied somehow) that would get notifications for people or feeds they want to follow... Maybe even have an outbox (again magically proxied somehow) that could be shared too or bookmarked.

I'm just trying to do some research right now
