I don't want to be a downer, but: the far-right National Rally doubled its number of seats in the National Assembly. The French election was not the catastrophe it could have been, but that is still a big move in the wrong direction.

There is relief, yes. The National Front (fuck its new bullshit name) didn't win. The Left has shown that it still could win, despite the constant right-wing propaganda in the media. But the fascists are here and here to stay. There is nothing to celebrate on the national scale.
