3 years ago today I sent a message to my primary care doctor asking for a gender dysphoria diagnosis and HRT. It was terrifying! And I’m so glad I finally decided to do it

Maybe you’re like I was: afraid that transition is too hard and that being a trans person would make you even more miserable. Maybe you’re afraid of who you will lose and thinking you will be happier pretending to be cis. If you are I will tell you that some of your fears are real. Transition is hard. You will probably lose people. But you won’t be happier living an inauthentic and disintegrated life. You deserve a chance to unmask and you are missing out on peace and love and joy in that closet

@danirabbit It occurs to me there's so much wisdom in this message, and it can be broadly applied to almost anyone's situation in life. I really admire your courage and determination to chase happiness despite the hardships. Bravo!
