     If you live in a place with flexible electricity pricing based on demand than it can make sense to install batteries even if you don't have solar because so many of our grids are starting to have a duck curve from photovoltaics.

     You can recharge your batteries while the energy is cheap or even free and then use that stored electricity in the evening instead of buying it from the grid when their prices have gone up because they fired up their methane burning plants.
