@Melissabeartrix I thought I had voted and commented, but apparently not.
I would have said "yes" for a similar reason as many others have stated:
While there was already commonly a "T" in "LGBT" back then (or "HBT" in Swedish) and I have always supported people's right to live as they are without being subjected to bigotry, it was a very distant and abstract concept to me, I didn't know much about it and if I had ever met a trans person, I might have been asking ignorant questions that would have made that person feel less accepted without me even realizing it.
One of the great things about the social web we have now is that I have read the words of so many people with different perspectives, that I wouldn't have been exposed to half a life ago (I'm 45).
