   oh god
   so for that job interview they made me (clean-room) reverse engineer the output format of a binary
   the first input i put in was "meow", obviously
   it spit out "MEOW ... .... meow" so I thought, okay, the first one is capitalized
   but then all succeeding inputs also yielded "MEOW ... .... input"
   i got really paranoid about the program potentially keeping hidden state or even self-modifying
   so i downloaded the thing again and ran it in a fresh container
   it gave me MEOW again
   they literally just chose MEOW as the magic file header and i spent 15 minutes figuring it out because i happened to chose that as my first input :blobcatfacepalm:
