   @simsa04 GNUSocial now supports ActivityPub. So the problem has been solved from the other end :) And that is why you and I can communicate like this, GS < > Mastodon.

   Btw, I am launching my own single-user instance on Sunday. Will share details and stuff, so anyone can replicate it if they like.

     A while back I was thinking about setting up a single user instance via mastohost. Turned out they use the newest Mastodon software (back then it was v3) and told me that because the newest version had dropped OStatus support, federation with gnusocial instances would not be possible. Don't know if that is still the case, but it was sufficient for me to look after an instance that, at least in principle and when everything works fine, supports ActivityPub and OStatus.

     Pleased to announce I am now verified over on Mastodon.

     It was $6 a month (plus the $20 a year for my domain name, 13 years of thinking about this issue and 30 years of experience/indecision on my part)
