   @wordsmith@writing.exchange it remotes the server's wake-on-lan! (WOL is a hardware feature that lets you turn a device on from a cold start via the network, most devices support it!)
   
   also considering a variant with a big red toggle switch that has a cover you have to flip before you can turn it on.
   
   what it will actually do: pre-heat my laboratory on cold Michigan mornings.

     an esp32 + giant red button + comically long antenna = wake on lan remote
     
     i think this has potential
